Why does my iPhone suddenly have 6GB of "Other" [duplicate]

I was getting ready to update my iPhone to the latest version of iOS7 beta
except that for some strange reason I don't have room on the iPhone. I
have 6.26GB of "Other" hogging the space.
What is the "Other" data and how do I get rid of it?
